The challenge

Names that do not travel lightly.

A luxury house lends its name reluctantly. Every launch, every show and every advertisement that carries it is measured against the house's own standard, wherever in the world it happens to run.

Across Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and the UAE, the region's exclusive retail groups held twenty-four of those names at once, each brand managed in its own markets under its own exclusivity agreement. Every one of them expected its Gulf season to look exactly as it would in Paris or Milan. The remit was to run that season on the ground: the launches, the shows, the trunk shows, the media.

The work

The season, produced end to end.

Fashion retail runs on a calendar. Collections land, boutiques open, seasons are marked down and cleared. For each house we ran the marketing rhythm around that calendar: in-store promotions, trunk shows, merchandise promotions, and the strategy for mid and end of season sales.

The set pieces were the launches and the shows. Twelve store openings were produced across the four markets, from Gucci in Qatar to Jil Sander in the UAE: event concept, invitations and guest database, press planning, catering guidelines, execution on the night. Fashion shows ran to four hundred guests at a time, with casting and fittings handled in house. Every event was coordinated with the brand's own retail teams and organised under the guidance of the house itself.

The head offices

Approved in Milan, delivered in the Gulf.

Luxury media is not simply bought. Budgets were allocated and media plans developed brand by brand, then organised with the supervision of the houses themselves: Tom Ford's office in New York, Gucci's in Paris, Prada's in Milano, Ferragamo's in Firenze.

The Gulf added its own discipline. Every media vehicle had to follow the brand's guidelines, every advert position was reported back to the head office, and campaigns were adapted for regional standards, with censorship management handled as a formal part of every plan. It is the least glamorous line in the scope, and the one that earned the most trust.
